Growing roots in Boston
Founded in Boston, Massachusetts, by Nick Nardone and Shane Caiazzo in 2001, CFGI emerged as the go-to partner for CFOs, addressing critical finance and accounting needs without the constraints of auditor independence. The firm established a prominent brand in Boston and extended its reach as an independent accounting advisory services team, with capabilities comparable to the Big Four national offices.
The model was clear from the start: senior Big Four professionals who work alongside clients, not from a distance—embedded in the engagement, doing the work that auditors cannot do alongside management, and doing it faster than anyone else.
Institutional backing and national growth
CFGI’s first venture outside of Boston led to New York in 2014. The grassroots model proved scalable: practitioners near clients, working side by side, in every market. Over the years that followed, the firm grew into 30+ offices across the United States and beyond, and evolved its service offerings to cover the expanding needs of clients across every industry.
